Sunley Pride with advantage in the Become An Annual Badge Holder Today Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Redcar
The Class 5 Become An Annual Badge Holder Today Median Auction Maiden Stakes are to be staged at Redcar over seven furlongs on Monday, 2nd April. The £2,264 purse has attracted a lineup of seven runners.
Only a single entry on the entire lineup has raced at Redcar, Solange, but that too was a horrific result for Van Nistelrooy’s three-year-old chestnut filly. Solange, out of mare, Bank On Her, raced at Redcar on the 24th of October, last year.
She was the last one in a lineup of thirteen, in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, raced over six furlongs.
The race was won by the 11/4 favourite, Takealookatmenow, who was paired up with Adrian Nicholls.
The runner up of the race was Sweetnessandlight.
Solange will be racing her seasonal debut today and that also, after quite a long break. Even though the outcome of the race was nothing close to satisfactory, she does have an offhand experience and exposure to the race course.
Another note worthy entry, due to a second score in his seasonal debut, is Sunley Pride, Three Valleys’ three-year-old chestnut colt, out of mare, Sunley Scent.
He was second in the Horizons Restaurant Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 2nd March at Wolverhampton over seven furlongs. The race was won by Warfare who was guided through the track by P. J. McDonald.
Been entered the race, mounted on the 8/11 favourite, Sunley Pride, and was able to finish the race decently.
He does not have any racing experience at Redcar, but will be aiming for a victory in his second start of the season. He has been ridden by Sam Hitchcott almost regularly, but for today, Sunley Pride is paired up with Mick Channon.
Sunley Pride is the only entry with recent racing experience while the rest will be making their seasonal debuts today.
Brother Superior will actually be cracking into the racing career as the race marks his first race ever. He can be counted upon as a candidate with potential to surprise.
Trail Blaze has the chance to display the consistency with which he has scored a runner-up finish, in the last three attempts of the previous season.
