Sunrisers Hyderabad beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals by 23 runs in the 68th IPL encounter – Cricket news
In the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2013 (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad won the 68th match of the event against favourites Rajasthan Royals by 23 runs.
Sunrisers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792, who chose to bat after winning the toss, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad had a shocking start as they lost their first wicket with only three runs on the board, followed by the demise of the second wicket a run
later and the third with only five runs on the scoreboard.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 (2), Dhawan (1) and White (0) back in the pavilion, Hyderabad needed to regroup and forge a resistance against the bowling onslaught in order to survive the remaining overs.
The partnership between Vihari and Samantray gave Hyderabad a lifeline, as the two batsmen neutralised the bowling offense.
The batting duo crippled the bowlers and managed to reach 49 runs, before Vihari was taken down by Trivedi, after he had scored 19 runs.
Samantray was then joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 and the two batsmen continued the onslaught, taking the score to 105, before Faulkner struck to nab Sammy, who faltered after jabbing 23 runs off 19 deliveries.
Later in the innings, Faulkner, hit jackpot when he dismissed Samantray with the batsman on 55 runs. This wicket was crucial and with the batsman back in the pavilion, Rajasthan managed to halt the remaining batsmen from scoring big. Consequently, Hyderabad
managed to pile 136 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
From the Royals, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jai-Prakash-Yadav-c65330 Faulkner was the best bowler with five wickets to his name in four overs.
They then had a decent start to their run chase with openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajinkya-Rahane-c970 giving their side a stand of 39 runs. Skipper Dravid was then the first casualty, losing his wicket on a run out after scoring 25 runs.
Dravid’s opening partner AM Rahane was then the next batsman to walk off the field as he was caught by Dhawan off KV Sharma after having scored 12 runs off 25 deliveries. This was a major wicket for the opposition as they now needed to tighten the screws
around the batting side.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558 was an obvious threat, however, he was neutralised by Perera after getting caught by Sammy with 11 runs off his bat.
It was then a nightmare of the Royals as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals with most of the middle-order batsmen failing to score in double figures.
With http://www.senore.com/Cricket/NLTC-Perera-c2121 sharing two wickets each, Hyderabad restricted their opponents on 113 in 20 overs.
Mishra was named as the player of the match for his two wickets in four overs.
