Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals: Eliminator Preview - Indian Premier League 2013
With the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) heading towards its end, the Sunrisers Hyderabad will be going up against the experienced Rajasthan Royals today in the eliminator, which will decide who gets to play the second qualifier against Mumbai Indians, who lost the first qualifier by 48 runs against Chennai Super Kings.
Both sides are equally balanced and were considered the underdogs this year. The two teams have had an impeccable record while playing at home, as the Royals remained unbeaten while Hyderabad lost just one game which was against the mighty Super Kings, nonetheless, both teams have won only two games in away matches.
While the Royals left everyone shocked by beating Chennai, their luck ran out in the final two games which they lost and would now have them in the back of their minds before stepping in the ground against the Sunrisers.
Nonetheless, this side has the talent and capability to meet Chennai Super Kings in the final, as they have bettered their start to the tournament by reaching the final three. Shane Watson will be certainly a player to watch out for, as he could be a game changer in today’s match. With skipper Rahul Dravid leading the way, the Rajasthan Royals have all the ingredients of a team which can leave many shocked in the remainder of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad are flying high on confidence and would be aiming to continue their winning streak in this fixture with two successes on their back. The side has responded well to pressure and has shown that it is capable of grabbing a win from almost nowhere.
Praising his side’s performance in the tournament Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman, Shikhar Dhawan said, “I believe the reason we have succeeded as a group is because this team is not about any individual. We all gel together and enjoy each other's success. We stuck to our plans, executed them well and played good cricket.”
While Darren Sammy was the hero of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, saving his side from imploding, they also have the likes of Dale Steyn spearheading their bowling attack. With an intimidating bowling offense, Hyderabad would be hoping to crush Rajasthan at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi
