Super Bowl XLVI: Half-time report
Well we have just witnessed 30 of the most exciting minutes of football.
The half-time show is currently underway which gives us time to provide a small recap of all the important events that took place in the first two quarters.
New York Giants took possession of the ball at the start of the game yet the Patriots defence successfully held back Manning from making any dangerous plays.
The Patriots recovered possession for just a single play in the first quarter. Tom Brady was about to be sacked near his end-zone and intentionally grounded the ball.
Grounding the football is a foul and Brady was penalised for six yards which brought him into the end-zone leading to the awarding of two points for a safety to New York.
Manning then sent a two yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz in the end-zone to score Super Bowl 46’s first touchdown.
The Giants were up by 9-0 at the end of the first quarter.
New England struck back early in the second. Brady led the drive to setup a 29-yard field goal by Stephen Gostowski who made it 9-3.
The Patriots were then completely stopped in their tracks by New York’s surprisingly aggressive defence.
However, Brady came through with just 15-seconds left in the quarter to send a four-yard touchdown pass to Danny Woodhead to get New England a one-point lead, 9-10.
It is getting exciting down in Indianapolis and now we will just wait for the excitement to continue after the half-time show.
