Super Bowl game: New York Giants will be leading by halftime – NFL News
The Super Bowl game between the New York Giants and New England Patriots in the Indianapolis, on Sunday, February 05, 2012, is going to have an aggressive start with both teams unleashing their attacks on each other straightaway at the start.
The New York Giants, who are playing the Super Bowl for second time since their last berth in 2007-2008 National Football League (NFL) season, will most likely to dominate in the first half.
It is the unique hallmark of the Giants attack that they do not give their opponents much time to settle down on the field and weigh their options of going after them.
The start of the game by the Giants has come rather a shock for many of their opponents and their first impression at many occasions had proved to their last, with very little breathing space in between.
Their quarterback, Eli Manning, just like his elder brother, Peyton Manning, the QB at the Indianapolis Colts, has proved his power, pace and run in many testing times. The team will be betting on their all-weather tested horse in their win.
Most importantly, Eli is coming out of an impressive showoff of his attacking nature and dominating attitude in the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, which they won with a convincing margin.
He stands well ahead of his counterpart, Tom Brady, the New England Patriots QB, who in their respective AFC game against the Baltimore Ravens even could not match the performances of their QB, Joe Flacco.
Flacco is not rated as good as Brady, while Manning leads both from the front. No matter Brady has a better historical record; his last season was not as impressive as some in the past.
Eli has already frowned at his opponents during the pre-game talks and hype, and is seen very much clear in his intentions of giving them tough time from his very first start.
He is going to get an equally good support from his receivers and running backs and with all plus of their attack the first half will definitely be of the Giants.
They will be expecting to have lead of about 13 to 17 points to go into the second half and if they are able to score even less points in the second round, their chances for a win will be there.
The team has the advantage of beating the New England Patriots in the regular season and will definitely go for securing another win, which is the most important for them.
Also, this is the second time that they are up against the Patriots in the Super Bowl event, and have history in their favour to have claimed the crown in that game.
So, more or less, it is going to be a rematch of their 2007-2008 game, and the Giants are very much interested to repeat the history on the weekend.
It is to be seen what will be the result, the Giants are not going to let the chance slip so easily and will be looking to put pressure on their opponents from very beginning of the game.
By all counts, the first half of the game is going to be led by the Giants, and they will be looking to maintain the lead until end of the game.
