Question:

Super tight hip flexor?

In soccer, couple games ago, I got a blister through the game. I started over compensating on my other leg to lighten the load on that foot with the blister.

Just finished up a game, my hip flexor is extremely tight, hurts to pull my leg up, can't support weight very well.

I've been on the foam roller, off and on, nothing seems to be working.

Do you have any stretches up your sleeve you think will help?

Thanks.

  1. If you are having a difficult time with written descriptions of stretches you can try going to youtube or the internet in general and searching on "hip flexor stretch."   If you want to increase the results try performing some of them while you soak in a hot bath.  I would also suggest that if you find yourself in this same situation, instead of compensating, just rest otherwise you can create a lot more problems for yourself.  Good luck!

  2. yay...finally someone like me!

i have something wrong with my hip...its really tight!

i also play soccer! getting ready for the season.

some stretches i got from psychical therapy......

    1. grab your foot. point your knee down.

    hold for 30 seconds.

    2. lay on your bed-one butt cheek on ;]. let your tight hip hang down from the bed. it should stretch!

    3. lay on the ground. grab your knee and bend it in towards you. hold for 30 seconds.

    4. lay on the ground. knees up. grab your one knee, but this time pull it across your body. should stretch out the hip flexor and the butt.

    hold for 30 seconds

    that should work!

i've been going to psychical therapy for it!

    hope it helps! ;]
