Supercell thunderstorms?

Do they spawn a lot of tornadoes?

They can, but the biggest threat is normally large hail, lots of lightning and strong winds.

9 out of 10 tornadoes almost have to come from a supercell - at least a strong one.  A supercell is the only thing that can produce that amount of convection and rotation to get a really good tornado started.

Yes, they spawn most tornadoes.  You can have supercell thunderstorms and not have tornadoes, too. Formation of tornadoes is not that easy to achieve.  Conditions need to be exactly right.  (or wrong depending on your point of view)
