When do supernodes occur in nodal analysis?

  1. supernode is just a convenient technique of eliminating one equation from the nodal analysis equations. It is usually not needed.

    What is generally done is two (non - reference nodes) between which an souce is connect is considered as a supernode and currents entering the super node is equated to the current exiting the supernode as is done in nodal analysis.
