Question:

Supershuttle (how long does it take?)?

I'm planning on using supershuttle.com to get me to the airport tomorrow. I'm not flying though, just meeting my wife (her car is already at the airport). I'm just wondering how long the shuttle usually takes to get you to the airport (how early before your flight do they try to get you there)? Mapquest has my home->airport as 42 minutes/32 miles. This will be around 10pm. Thanks.

  1. Call Supershuttle and talk to the operator.  They'll ask your address and when your flight is and give you a short list of pick up times.  You can tell them you are not flying out but just meeting someone arriving so you won't need to get there [2 hours?] ahead of time since you won't be going through security.  They'll adjust your pick up time accordingly and suggest other times.  They're good at letting you know just how long you'll need--and take into consideration that your Supershuttle will usually make several stops to pick up other people too which is all scheduled in (in other words, just because it would normally only take a driver an hour to get to the airport from your house, doesn't mean it'll take Supershuttle only an hour too.  They like to fill up their vans to make the gas expenditure cost-effective (if that's even doable these days) so they usually make stops for other people going to the airport--and sometimes those other people are not ready on time so you have to wait for them.  Talk to the Supershuttle people.
