  1. lMy understanding is that a boat is named when it is launched, and it may be re-named if it gets a new owner. But once you own the boat, you may not re-name it during the time you own it.

  2. man ive been on boats all my life i wouldnt take the risk of renaming a boat.maybe im just superstitious but i wouldnt do it at least just to keep the tradition going.

  3. never rename a boat!!!!!!

    one its bad luck

    two keep the tradition going

three the person who named the boat probably hoped that it would stay that way forever be respectful and polite

  4. Never name a boat after a boat that went down. You draw that bad luck onto you

  5. ITS TERRIBLE

YOUR BOAT WILL COME TO LIFE AND EAT YOU ALIVE.

    idk im not superstitous

  6. Your boat name is very important to how your boat functions, what goes on in your boat, and how others view your boat.  We have a waterskiing boat that we named "The Wet Dream."  It has proved to be just that!  I'm sure if we would have named it something else, it would not be the beautiful, exciting, hard-working, s**y boat that it is today.  Choose wisely!
