What are some of the basic supplies I need to make a homemade miniature?

  1. Miniature Figures - Clay, sculpting tools, sculpting putty, wire

    Miniature Furniture - Basswood (balsa is too soft), X-acto knife, razor saw, miter-box, wood-glue, sanding sticks, files, and straight-edges.  Advanced tools are mini lathes, band-saws, scroll saws, and table saws.

    I've never done the figures myself... I purchase commercial figures and modify them.

    EDIT:TheJanith is correct. Patience, and for those of us who are older:  glasses and magnifiers !!


  2. Patience.  Aside from that, it depends on a miniature what.  To make miniature furniture, you'll need lightweight wood (balsa is great) fabric, glue, paint, sandpaper, etc.  To make miniature pets and people, use clay.  To make accessories, use whatever each needs.  

  3. Balsa wood , mini saw ( Michael's ) wood glue , fine sand paper & Most Important  Patience   ;)))
