Supported file types from camera?

Ok.... I have a Pentax Optio m20 camera that takes movies, i already have videos up on Youtube, unedited. i wanna start editing them, but when i go to windows movie maker and try to import the video, it says its not a supported file type... how do i make it a supported file type? i alrweady tried some other cheap movie maker thing, and it said the same thing, its unsupported or damaged... -_- any help please?

  2. WMM supports these file types.

     Audio files: .aif, .aifc, .aiff .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, and .wma

     Picture files: .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf

     Video files: .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

    It does not however recognize video files from my digital camera. My pinacle studio 11 ultimate recognizes all my cameras files. WMM is not the greatest program.
