Supported living sector ??

I'm 16 and i am planning to do an apprenticeship in health and social care. I will be working in a work placement and at the end of it i'll be receiving NVQ level 2 or 3. Can someone help me. Do you think that i should do my placement in the supported living sector? If i do Where will i have to work?

  1. You should speak to the course leader about the work placement & where they'll place you or if you're expected to find a placement yourself.  

    You could also speak to the Connexions officer attached to your school, see if they know anything about the course & if they can put you in contact with anyone who can answer your questions.  

    Ring your Local Authority & ask to speak to adult Social Services, they should be able to give you information about supported living projects in your area or at least tell you where to find the information.


  2. i would say possable doing a  supported living sector would be good for you.

  3. If you are doing an apprenticeship and you do your placement in the supported living sector you'll probably end up doing it in some sort of nursing home/ residential facility for people with disabilities, you may be able to do some work in home care but you'll have to be with someone who is already qualified so they can actually supervise you.

    If this is the area you want to work in then go for it.
