Supporting a ceramic cooktop

Question

I just installed a Kenmore 42739 cooktop and fear there is not enough support under it. I installed the retaining brackets as directed (on center sides of cooktop, one s***w in bottom of cooktop to attach it to L bracket that attaches to counter and dropped it in so the edge is resting along our tile (about 1/4 inch overhang onto tile). Is this enough to support the weight of things I cook?. Thanks!
