momentarily places all of her weight on the heel of one foot. If the area of the heel is 0.500 in^2, calculate the pressure exerted on the underlying surface in kilopascals (1 atm= 14.7 lb/in^2).

I think you use the equation P=F/A

  1. P=F/A is correct, what is needed is an appropriate conversion factor.

    (135 lb) (6.895 kPa/psi) / (0.500 in²)  = 1861.6 kPa.
