  1. Th e demand for gasoline will decline.   I guess the positive news is that the "carbon footprint" of most adults will decline. It would a very friendly development for environmentalists and global warming focused groups.

  2. More Motorcycles and bicycles.

  4. Automotive makers will be forced to make smaller more efficient cars. More public transit. all in all good for the environment in the long run but in the short run bad for the economy. And I mean because we didn't prepare for it, trust me gas will go up to $7.00 if not more. People don't understand that China+USA+EU will make the demand on a non renewable source of energy sky rocket by this time next year.

  5. I will start walking to work.  Its 35 miles.  But what the h**l.

  6. people will just stop driving, eventually the market will dictate the price, if we cut back use this demanding decreasing then the cost has to go down.  I dont think it'll get that bad.  Not only does it affect driving all products go up due to shipping costs and running factories and such.

  7. Gasoline has cost that much in Europe for decades so the long term result will be living habits more like exist there, that is smaller cars and more public transportation and probably also smaller houses. However the adjustment time will be years and in the short term we will suffer a recession and a decline in our standard of living because most of the gas money will go to oil exporting countries.

  8. I would find a job closer to home where I would not be driving as often. Car dealerships would not be making any money and eveutually shutdown or there would be very few of them. The gov't would have to come up with an alternative fuel for people to start buying again.
