interested in Hossa. Who do you think Detroit would be willing to give up in exchange?

Do we want him after his lackluster performance in the finals or is this because of the team he is on now?

  1. I see no point in bringing Hossa to Detroit, not with Grand Rapids overflowing with talent.

Hossa is a great player, but why waste money when you've got youngsters ready to take the next step?

  2. Why would they. they dont need him. the team is pretty strong and with the skills that they have at drafting they dont need to trade for stars.

They create their stars in there system.

zetteberg datsyuk and holstrom were all picked past the 6th round in the draft.

    zet was 7th

    dat was 8th

and hol was 10th i belive.

  3. Not now when they win the Stanley cup!!!! Detroit has a great team. Why mess with that? I still wish the Wings had Brett Hull back, but time and age pass us all by.

  4. he has been doing fine, thank you very much for asking. You guys would be lucky to have him. it really is his choice where he guys, they don't make him sign the contract.

As far as your question "Do we want him after his lackluster performance in the finals or is this because of the team he is on now?" That's hard to say because they really aren't interested in him. But it wouldn't be his lackluster performance because as for the people such as myself that actually watched the Penguins during the year and not just the RW's, he's been pretty good.

  5. Lackluster performance? Sometimes i think Hossa is the only one playing on the Penguins..

  6. what you mean giving away. Hossa is a UFA, you can get him for free. The wings have the cap space to get him too. Hossa has been one of the best pens in the series so far. 1goal 2 assists in the finals on 4 pittsbugh goals. 22pts in the playoffs, what a bum. Ill glady have him on my team, can score and is plays well defensively

EDIT: You definatly got the cap to handle the salary. You wont be keeping Hasek, so there goes his 2.05 million salary. Your cap his this year was 47.79million. So drop the hasek salary 45mil, and the cap goes to 50+million, plus im sure you guys wont keep Stuart either, there goes another 3.5million, and theres your cap space needed for Hossa

But you guys only have 37 million committed to next year, so theres room for Hossa in the wings future plans if needed

  7. Hossa is were he belongs.  Far away from Hockeytown.

  8. Wow, harsh or what? Are you guys mad because he scored last night and ruined a shut out for Ozzy? Hossa isn't a trash player, here, let me clean your bifocals for ya.

  9. I don't think his performance has been "Lackluster".

  10. the best i'd be willing to give up is samuelson. hossa insn't that good and were not given away franzen or hudler for that matter

  11. A.  He has been the Pens best player so far.  Just because he hasnt put up a ton of numbers this series doesnt mean anything.  How many players in the NHL could really put up great numbers playing against the Norris Trophy OWNER and two Selke Finalists every shift.

    B.  Like others have said, he is a UFA this summer so there wouldnt need to be a trade.  Could they fit him under the cap?  Sure, if they really wanted to.  He said he wishes to play for a cup contender while he is still in his prime.  He would likely be willing to take a discount to come to Detroit.  Also, Detroit has most of their players locked up and they have plenty of cap space, especially with the cap rising once again this year.  It might get a little tricky since they have to sign Zetterberg to an extension next summer, but Im sure they could work it out, especially since the cap will likely rise once again another 10% the following summer.

    C.  Im not saying he will sign with Detroit this off season, but Detroit will likely inquire about where they stand with him on July 1st.  They are interested in him and tried to get him at the deadline.  It all depends on money though.  They are not going to put them selves in a bad position by signing him to a $9 million a year contract.  The fact the Holland showed interest in him at the deadline is all I need to know in order to believe he would fit into the Detroit system.

  12. He's too expensive for what he brings to the table.  The way he's playing in this series, he should pay Detroit to pick him up.

  13. if hossa's lame@ss comes to Detroit, ill drop my season tickets. i cant stand Marian Hoass
