Suppose to start clomid tomorrow, will my period stop?

My period is irregular, I had to take provera to start my period and then on day 5 (tomorrow) start clomid. My periods last longer than 5 days normally. Will clomid stop my period? I am concerned that ovulation may be offset if my period runs its normal time. Just want to know if anyone could give me their experiences. (Please no sarcastic remarks)

  1. Clomid will not stop your period.  I was on Clomid for day 3-7 of this past cycle and my bleeding was the same.  I ovulated on day 14 which I was told was normal.  I was also told that the Clomid may altar your cycle so the dr. had me using an OPK from day 12.

  2. Hi i just finish my last pill of provera im waiting for AF to show so I could start clomid. on they 3 of the cycle. my period is irregular too. and it last for 7 days. So i start clomid on the 3, i will only have my period for 3 days. This is my second round of clomid and yes it make your period stop! it may take 2 days the most. Your Doctor knows what he is doing clomid is to make u ovulate so your ovulation is not going to be offset!! thats why ur taking clomid.

Start Baby Dancing 3 3 days after ur last dose of clomid everyother for at least 10 days after. Clomid also make ovulation to b late so times.

  3. Clomid should stop your period, but to be on the sure side talk to your doctor to see if it continues after Clomid, you can ask a doctor online for free and find others going through similar situations, try fertilityties.com

    good luck!!

  4. clomid is not going to stop your period.  your period will run its natural course which i hopefully about 7 days.  since you take clomid on day 5-10 you should be fines.  your ovulation should start after you have finished with the clomid.  i think it is around day 13 or so.  i have taken for many cycles and have never have had a problem with my period lasting too long and my periods are very irregular.  my treatments have finally worked with some other fertility drugs to help it along.  we are now pregnant expecting twins.  so try not to get frustrated with the process and keep records of every treatment you so.  good luck!

  5. Dont worry about when you bleed etc, this does not affect the chlomid in the slightest.  I took provera myself to start bleeding in order to take the chlomid and I stopped bleeding long before I stopped taking the chlomid medication and then on the chlomid induced period I bled for longer than taking the tablets and my specialist said that this does not affect the chlomid in the slightest.  Chlomid will help you have a more regular cycle and you should ovulate round about day 14 but this is not the case for everyone taking this medication some people ovulate much later.  I would advise that you use opk's in order to pin point the days you should be trying in order to maximise your chances of conceiving.  I used the clearblue digital ones for one cycle and I am now 30 weeks pregnant after 2 and a half years of trying.

    Good Luck
