  1. Throw the ball at a tangential angel of 45 degrees with enough power to push the ball in the air , the runner speed must be little less than the speed of the ball in the air

  2. at an angle up and toward the direction you are going (if you are going in one direction). the angle is to compensate for resistance in the air which will cause the ball to land behind you   if there is no wind or any other resistance besides gravity, throwing a ball directly up while moving at a constant speed and direction should come down in the same path of the thrower and land on him..

you should throw it hard and with your left hand, unless you are right handed then you should raise the ball above your head in your right hand.  bring the ball quickly behind your body with your palm facing outward, still holding the ball, swinging your arm outstretched behind you.  then release the ball underhand into the air, screaming as it leaves your hand "this is my ball and don't mess with it, God!"

    and he'll give it back.

    amen.

  3. Cool. I have tried it myself before, and yes it is possible to catch the ball once you have thrown it.

Of course you're not going to throw a ball that is twice or thrice the speed of ur normal running speed. Its common sense.

So, for starters, ( in an open field ) test out how u throw ur ball, and how fast u have to run in order to take a lead of the ball, hence being able to catch it..

If u have problems catching up with ur ball, it either means, u're running too slow, OR, u have thrown the ball a little too hard.

I wouldn't encourage the use of angles of how u throw the ball, because it doesn't always meet one's expectation ( needs ).

Imagine two boys, one with long leg strides and the other with shorter leg strides. The one with the longer leg stride covers more distance than the other, therefore able to run ahead of the ball. ( in this case, im comparing speed of running )

So it proves people have different ways of doing this experiment.

So have fun doing this! Its one of the ways to enjoy "the throw and catch" when shortage of people to play with. :)

    Hope this helps!

Additional point i just thought of :

-the steeper the angle u throw at, the FASTER the ball reaches it destination. So throw it at a higher angle ( more than 45 less than 90, cos u dont a ball upwards.. )

  4. you should thro it like this EX http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIdihZu8b...

  5. Comes with practice, but once you get it right it usually stays with you. Doesn't take too long, either. Careful while looking up; you may bump into someone or worse, something hard!

  6. Throw it up into the air...just a little ways in front of you...
