  1. They would come in all shapes and sizes rather irregular compared to our galaxy which is older than the early galaxies, have a look at the Hubble Deep Feild Images and you will see what I mean.

    Quasars also played a prominent role in these early formations.


  2. It would be TONS hotter! TONS denser too. And everything would be flying around and kind of clumping together.
