Supposed Rock Band DLC?

Question

I'm always on the computer looking to see what the next weeks' releases for Rock Band will be. I've seen a few songs that have a reliable source and a date of release, yet are never for sale or mentioned again. Whatever happened to "Tribute" by Tenacious D being on the list of confirmed songs? Or about the "Metal" pack with Black Sabbath, Metallica, and Iron Maiden? I know the metal pack was confirmed to be released in March, but it never seemingly saw the light of day. What are the reasons behind this? Will they ever be released?

Well with Rock Band 2 to be released soon, I would expect they are cutting back on DLC for the first one.  They will want to give Rock Band owners a reason to upgrade and I personally wouldn't upgrade if I thought there was going to be a lot more new content for the original game.
