Supreme victory at Hall Green
Hall Green ended its day of races today in supreme fashion with a couple of A1 races bookending an A2, with an A3 as the final race.
In the first of the A1 races, Supreme Cannon reigned supreme after taking an early lead from the sixth trap. Cannon stayed wide and finished 1¾ lengths ahead of Miss Tiny Boots with a time of 4.65.
Taking third place was Kilcarrig Champ, and a head behind Champ was Barnish Thief. Westview Charlie, the 7-4 race favourite, started off well, but fell back on the third bend and didn’t have time to recover. Taking last, behind Charlie, was Coolavanny State.
The other A1 race featured 5-2 joint favourites, Shiloh Sienna and Dalcash Fantasy, who both finished with very different results. Sienna took the lead after getting off to the best start of the group, and cruised to victory over Bua Odessa by 4¼ lengths. Fantasy was slow from the start, and didn’t look good. The only hound he beat was Dromana Warrior, who didn’t even finish the race after sustaining an injury.
A head behind Odessa was Winetavern Boxer, slugging his way into third spot, a length ahead of Lord of Time, who could have used more time after checking on the second bend. Somehow Time was still able to keep ahead of Fantasy.
The A2 race saw 6-4 race favourite, Dainty Billy, win by 2¼ lengths over Lorette Joanne. Billy had to fight his way out of the middle of the pack before taking the lead on the second bend from Galbraithsrocket, who finished in third.
Another 5 ¾ lengths back in fourth was Dromana Mia, and in fifth was Aero Miles. Dukes Jester finished in last place after stumbling on the first bend, finishing 11¼ lengths behind Miles.
The final race of the day saw another supreme victory as Supreme Ted took first by 1¼ lengths over Spoke Shave. Shave was quick out of the traps and took the lead early, but Ted stuck to the rails and used the inside track to pass Shave at the halfway point of the race.
In third was 5-2 race favourite, Extreme Impact, and behind him was Ardera Paris in fourth. Captain Said So finished in fifth spot while Kayleighs Blue took sixth after checking at the three-quarter mark of the race.
