Sure Reef confident about the Tattersalls Ireland November Yearling Sale Handicap
Quite a few in the line-up of the Tattersalls Ireland November Yearling Sale Handicap have the potential of taking back to the connections the €13,000 prize money. Fifteen three-year-old and above will take their chances over a mile and four furlongs on Monday, 24th September at Fairyhouse.
Promising due to the recent form and the slack that he got after the last outing has surged the chances of the three-year-old chestnut colt, Sure Reef. The M. Halford trained got into actual racing only during the current season as his 2011 campaign displays only a single outing.
Nine starts down the season have found the colt victorious twice.
He kick started the new season with a seventh position in the Irish Racing Calendar Maiden on 29th April, 2012 at Navan over six furlongs.
The maiden was broken by the favourite entry, Atacx.

Choisir’s chestnut colt won for the first time in the career on 17th July, 2012 at Killarney over a mile and three furlongs in the Anglo Printers Handicap.
The favourite winner was paired up with jockey, Shane Foley.
Bursting out of the ninth gate in the field of nine, Sure Reef did not set into a high gear and became prominent only when the final two furlongs were to be battled over.
He raced from the fifth position to the leader’s spot during the concluding furlong, and defeated South South West by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
Encrypted Message took away the most favoured title from Sure Reef in his next start, but even then the three-year-old out of, Cutting Reef, performed at par with the expectations of the connections.
The 7 to 1 entry for the race today is coming back after more than a month, and will once again enjoy the companionship of jockey, Shane Foley. He will break from the third gate and will need to keep track of quite a few contestants as the field is a tricky one. The accomplished entries will not let it be an easy exit for the Irish chestnut colt.
