  1. I applied - if you don't ask, you don't get.

They said no, because I don't receive benefits.

    Oh well.

  2. Hi, When I was pregnant both myself and my partner worked fulltime. My midwife initially told me to put in for it whilst I was still pregnant but was turned down. When my son was born I reapplied and got £500 awarded and was claiming no benefits at all.. So if you apply but get declined just reapply once your baby arrives.. Hope this helps.

    Take Care

  3. i work and i had it when i had my son. if you get tax credits you should be able to have it, but you need to be getting the child tax credit i think. your best bet is to fill in the form and send it off and see what they say. im sure you can submit it on line. try googling it

  4. i wasn't allowed it, drives me crazy that your better off not working and get more help!!!

  5. Hi I wasnt entitled to any sure start maternity grant as I wasnt claiming any benefits so I cannot get sure start maternity grants, I think you need to be claiming income support etc to claim it and claim before you are so many weeks pregnant.

  6. People who responsibly plan for their pregnancies don't need to get money from other people..

  7. no because im not on benifits, but when my baby is born her dad will get working family tax credit then i have to reapply then i will get it.

    good luck

    xx

  8. If you need help with benefits etc, why not try the citizens advice bureau. Free and impartial.

  9. no i have not received that because we are working

  10. There are numerous reasons why a person might not get their grant. If you apply to early or too late, are not receiving the right benefit or tax credits to qualify or the form isn't signed/stamped by your care provider are the most common reasons.

Not everyone is entitled to it check out the DWP website for details of your entitlements.

  11. um

  12. so childish you can get a grant whether u work or not, if you earn over a certain amount of money you wont recieve or if you have a partner and u both earn well. otherwise you should get it ther is no excuse
