Sure-footed Matthew Hatton wants to defeat Kell Brook – Boxing news
Even though he is being considered the underdog for his upcoming match, Matthew Hatton, the former European welterweight champion, is highly confident that he can beat Kell Brook on March 17 in Sheffield.
According to Hatton, he has been in the role before and has made the best of it and he will do so again.
In a recent interview, Hatton stated, “I’m looking forward to it. ... People are making me out as a big underdog, a big betting underdog as well, but to be honest that doesn’t worry me. ... I enjoy being the underdog sometimes because you go in there with
nothing to lose and everything to gain.”
Hatton, who currently sits on 42 wins, 5 losses and 2 ties, has won 16 of his matches through knockouts. On the other hand, Brook comes with 26 wins, 0 losses and 18 knockouts. Brook has remained undefeated to date and he looks forward to maintain this streak.
For Hatton right now, this could be the biggest victory of his career or the biggest mistake.
The March 17 event will also see some other great undercard fights including but not limited to Lee Purdy vs. Adnan Amar, Grzegorz Proksa vs. TBA, Alastair Warren vs. John Ryder and Carl Frampton vs. TBA in super bantamweight action. The recently added Frampton
match is another highlight of the event. Frampton will be defending his commonwealth title.
As of now, the event looks solid and ready to deliver all the action most boxing fans are waiting for. Hatton vs. Brook is the headlining the event. As of now, it is being considered among the best matches of 2012. Both the fighters are good at their game,
with Brook being the better one.
However, Hatton’s recent statements have made the event even more enthralling. Now, expectations from him are higher than ever and he must give in his best to beat Brook if he wants to maintain his fan club. After all those pompous statements, Hatton cannot
afford to lose at any cost. If he does it will be quite a disappointment for him and his fans.
