Surf Movies...?

Question

Need some good surf movies to watch. Nothing too old (preferably from the 1980's to now). Got friends coming over and their surfers so need something good. Thanks for the help!

Dane Reynolds - first chapter.

Its good cause its like the future of surfing. Very entertaining and motivating to get out there and in the water also

There are Hollywood surfing movies and there are surfing movies.

Hollywood:

Point Break (Keanu Reeves)

North Shore (this is a pretty good movie, as far as hollywood goes)

Blue Crush

These are mainly considered hilarious by surfers, because it involves stereotypical ¨surfer dude¨ type of thing, and they´re not very realistic. But these you will find in video stores.

Surf movies:

Campaign 2 (My favorite, has sick surfing, you can choose between 6 different soundtracks, there is a storyline you can choose to watch, or you can choose to watch just the surfing, its awesome)

Creepy Fingers (A volcom movie, its really really weird, but thats Volcom for you, there is some great up and coming surfers here)

Montaj (A movie about Taj Burrow, really good surfing)

Tomorrow-Today (a recent movie by transworld surf magazine, its got gnarly surf and Dane Reynolds, which just by the name you know its good)

Glass Love (a very meaningful movie, its very deep. where the others are just surfing, this is more, it has some awesome surfing, and it makes you really think, probably my second favorite movie)

Litmus (along the lines of glass love. both movies have longboarding, whereas the others are mainly just shortboards. either way, both litmus and glass love are phenomenal.)

Mixed Tape (A movie chronically Bobby Martinez, local SB surfer, great footage)

Absolute Mexico (all mexico, all the time. Cory Lopez grabs a 30 second barrel, its just amazing)

All these surfing movies are my personal favorites. These are movies you can pretty much only find in a surf shop or on the internet. Glass love for the deep meaning, and Campaign 2 for the pure sick surfing (Slater said the best he ever surfed was for this movie).

If they really love surfing, go for Glass Love and Campaign 2, you might have to get them from the internet. They´re about 20 or 30 dollars each. good luck, and remember to keep a few cold ones around.

North Shore!!!!  It's the greatest surf movie of all time.

The Endless Summers are always great but I pity the loser that picked North Shore. Total BS movie that is way Hollyweird lame.

A classic that is always good for the plot and the surfing is Big Wednesday. Especially watch the part where the guy goes to surd just after he enlists in the army. He is all by himself on a 10' wave, just carving and the music is incredible too.
