Surf and Turf favourite for Alice´s Noodle Bar Novices´ Handicap Chase

Surf and Turf has got decent chances of winning Alice´s Noodle Bar Novices´ Handicap Chase at Stratford in England on Monday, March 12, 2012. The triumphant runner will walk away with cash prize of 3,899.
The going is expected to be good for the 2 mile, 1 furlong and 110 yard race, which will begin at 2:40 GMT. A total of seven runners will be seen in action and their names are: Surf And Turf, Jeanry, Imperial Shabra, On Gossamer Wings, Edlomond, Tara Warrior
and Downward Spiral.
The bookmakers have full faith in the abilities of Surf And Turf, who has participated in four chase races in his career. He has not been able to win any of them, but managed to finish runner up on a couple of occasions.
Jonjo O'Neill’s trainee has been in good form over the past few months and if he gets a clear run today, he can easily finish on top of the table. Considering his form at the moment, the punters will be encouraged to place a lot of bets on him.
The six-year-old gelding will be partnered by Richie McLernon, who has a decent record in chase racing, winning 41 of them.
On the other hand, Imperial Shabra will also be chasing his maiden victory while chasing. He has taken part in 20 of such events, but has never managed to win. The best he could manage was a second place finish at Kilbeggan, last year.
Considering the strike rate of the eight-year-old gelding, the punters will not be interested over risking their money on him. However, he does have a very good chance of winning today and might surprise one and all.
Patrick O Brady’s trained runner will be ridden by G. N. Fox, who is new to the sport and will be eying a strong show today.
Jeanry, trained by Arthur Whitehead, might prove to be the dark horse, as he has the potential of winning races. He has very limited experience of chase racing, as there was just one occasion when he raced in such an event.
However, the nine-year-old gelding finished runner up back then, thus the punters will be expecting something special from him today. He will be ridden by James Banks, who has just three chase races until now.
The rest of the participants will not find it easy to win at Stratford today, so the real battle will be amongst the top three favourites.
