Surf help please?

Question

ok so i can surf pretty good on a longboard.But i want to learn on a shortboard.. i am 5'3 and my board is 6'10. it seemed pretty easy for me cause it looks so gigantic. but when i try to stand up i can't and i really want to learn on this board.

no matter how my board just becomes unbalanced and slips away from me. help me please

if you really want to continue with that board your just going to need to work on your balance. not much you can do. just keep trying

work on your balance...ie. get out every chance and work on your balance,there is no substitue or magic spell
