  1. yes that seems like a nice board if your willingly to go surfing and get good at it go for it

  2. yeah

i recently brought a board a bit bigger than that but i think that would suit you well!

it looks in great condition and quite reasonably priced for a board!

    you'll have great fun!

    good luck!

  3. johan v is right. maybe you should get a funboard. and NEVER buy a board before you see it. it may be too short or not thick enough. now if you really want a shortboard like that, it is possible to leard on them (i learned on a shortboard) but it will take 20 times more time and effort to learn on vs. a long board or fun board. i hope this helps

  4. no, that surfboard is not meant for a beginner... you prob need to get a long board...but because you seem to be hooked on getting a short board, try getting a funboard bc it rides like a long, turns like a short...but you should never buy a surfboard online, especially when your a beginner and its from ebay...you just dont know what condition its gona be in(it may say its in great condition, but when you get it, you can find so many dings in it that its just not worth the money). so i suggest to go down to your local surf shop and ask them bc thats the only way to gaurentee your getting the best board for your level, weight and the type of waves you will be surfing

  5.           just make sure your having fun and enjoying it thats the most important thing. Your height counts for alot and it makes for what type of board your going to get. Get a board slightly taller than your height.

Practise and everything should go your way.

                        have fun!

  6. If you don't want to get a longboard (which I can totally appreciate, you may as well go sailing on one of those IMO), then I'd recommend a funboard.  And whilst online seems like a good idea, it can sting a lot worse.  If you have the opportunity, rent a few different types of boards first, then decide what you want to go with, and maybe buy used from a local shop, or if you've got the £££, then new will let you get exactly the one you want.

As long as your on the waves enough, listen to fellow surfers and have the determination,  (and you aren't too heavy for your board), you'll be able to master the waves with whatever you end up with, as long as the board is appropriate for the waves.

  7. The size is - 6'9 long by 19 1/2 wide by 2 3/4 thick. That's a pretty big shortboard. In the US we call them Fat Boy Thrusters. While it'll support your weight, it's design will make it difficult for you to catch waves. And that's a lot of cash to lay out for a board that needs repairs. Look for a mini mal, or funboard at your local surf shop. You'll get the right advice from them, can see what you're buying, and get a better price.

  8. tryy a funboard, that biard is pretty advanced

practice on a funboard and once you get really good on that you can transition to a board like that

if you get a board like that right now youll get really frustrated and not want to surf anymore

yess, we all went through the stage ew i dont want to be seen with this HUGE heavy ugly longboard but heyy weve all done ittt. . .

    but a funboard is like 6'10- 8'0

    soo its better than nothinggg

    good luck

    hope i helpeddd

    (:

  9. NO!  What kind of board are you taking lessons on? A fun board? A softtop? Whatever you are learning on is probably what you should think about buying. At around 120 lbs. and around 5'5" tall, I suspect you may still have some growing to do, so that's something else for you to consider. Also, your height has almost nothing to do with what you should ride. Lot's of surfers ride borads that are shorter than they are. It's your weight that counts. You need a board with enough bouyancy to float you well enough to paddle and catch a wave.

Unless you are an exeperience surfboard buyer, don't ever foolishly waste your money buying a surfboard on line.

Go to a good local surf shop, and talk to the surfers there, who surf the same breaks that you do. They will help you pick the right board for your size, skill level, the local wave conditions and your budget. Also, be sure you really want to surf before you make that big investment. And try a couple different types of boards (rent them, or borrow them from your friends) before you decide what type you want to buy. TRY before you BUY.

I have been surfing for 42 years, and I have owned dozens of boards. I get my surfboards and surfboard buying advice at the local surf shops at the places I surf, not on line.

  10. John hit the nail on the head there youngblood.

  11. i really wouldnt advise getting that board after just three lessons. that is a shortboard and not for anyone less than indermediate level of surfing. You will find it incredibly hard to catch the smaller waves and paddling and balancing will also b difficult. I suggest a mini-mal. they are shorter than longboards and are heavier and generally dont have a rocker so its easy to maintain your balance. However they still have the manouverability that longboards lack. I use a 7ft 6inch mini malibu and think its great fun. I highly recommend one. What ever you get, just keep surfing and having fun!
