  1. IT DEPENDS WHAT BOARD YOU WANT AND THE SHAPER'S PRICE, USED BOARDS ARE LESS EXPENSIVE

  2. You should be able to get one cheaper if you go directly to the shaper and get a board custom made, as this cuts out the middle man.

I got my 8 foot board for A$720 with a heavy glass job and gloss finish, but a similar board from a surf shop would normally be $850-900

Don't be tempted to go for the $600 board, leash and bag deals if you want to keep it for a while. These boards are always glassed very poorly and are so weak you can make a dent just by squeezing them hard.

Having said that, you can probably get a decent second hand longboard for around $700.

If I were you, I'd go to a local shaper. That way you can discuss what you're looking for and get something perfect.

    All prices are in Australia.

I think they are much more expensive in the UK

  3. these ppl are crazy.  a brand new board should be $600 at the most.  however, im assuming that since ur asking this its a first board.  a little advice, a first surfboard is like a first car for a teenager: it will absolutely get dinged up really bad.  on account of that let me urge you to get a used board for $150 or less.  after u ride it for a while ull have a good idea of what u want for ur next board, at which point u can get a board for about $600 or whatever ridiculous amount other people will tell u boards cost...

  4. In Australia they can range from $500 -$1500 a board.

They now have a soft board which is alot cheaper just as boyent as fiberglass (sorta like a desposible board). they do the job and save you money.

  5. About a grand for a new board, and as cheap as $50 for a real dinged up one
