  1. normally $300-$1000 my amazing board was $3500

  2. anywhere form $100-950

    usually around 350

  3. This question makes me believe that you know nothing about surfing. Am I right?

If that is the case, take some time to build up you ocean swimming skills, and get some surfing lessons (unless you have lots of pals who surf, and are willing to teach you). Please don't waste you money until you take time to do a couple different things:

Learn how to surf (or at least get a handle on the basics) If you take lessons, the school or instructor will rent you a board to learn on.

After you have mastered the basics, try a couple different types of surfboards (rent them or borrow them from surfing friends).

When you have decided that you really want to surf, enough to make a big investment in your own surfboard, go to a good local surf shop, and talk to the industry professionals who work there. they will help you buy a board that matches your skill level, your size, your local break(s) and your BUDGET.

Read some of the old Questions & answers here. Don't rush into buying a surfboard. A real board (used / new ) can run from $350 to $1,000.. That's too much money to spend based on information from somebody on line. TRY before you BUY.

I have been surfing for 42 years, and I hope you take the time to learn right, and have as much fun as I have had!

  4. go to a camp first to try it out before you spend hundreds on a sport you may not enjoy.

  5. Costco sells softtop beginner surfboards for $99

  6. Any where from 200-300$ used (or crappy popout) up to whatever you're willing to pay for a custom board.  I've seen custom longboards go for a couple of thousand.  Too rich for my blood though.  I try to keep it under 400, so I usually have to trade something in, or lately just make it myself.

  7. to start out your going to want some volume in your board, and since its your first board its not going to need to be a new expensive one. I would suggest a soft longboard or fun board, something with a range of 7'0 up to 8'6. Costco sells 8'0 soft boards for $99 and that is probly your best bet right now because you can practice getting up on it and it will last you at least 3-4 months and if you stick with the sport then you will want to upgrade to a shorter board or something that you can get more speed out of. so i say go with the $100 costco board and you won't even need to buy anything else for it. you won't find a deal like that anywhere else.

    enjoy your board.

  8. If you want like a good longboard, i'd say $800. For a good shortboard, sometimes around $6-700. but if you want a cheaper board get an epoxy board. they last longer then any other surfboard. and there cheaper these days then regular fiber glass board.

  9. Well, they can range from diff. depending on the quality. But

    maybe starting around $300ish..

  10. about $300.00

  11. there can get really expensive...if you buy used, then maybe around less then a 100 to 200 but if you buy new then i have seen form 345 to around 700 to 800 dollars...i have even seen some cost 2,000...wow

  12. Hey  dont worry about spending big bucks on your first surf board, they usually do cost 300 to 500 bucks, with the prices still rising, but go on craigslist.com and look for some used ones, most likely someone can cut you a deal

  13. It depends if your buyin it used or not. If your a beginner buy a used one with not that many dings ranges about 100-300 bucks. o and it depends on the material too.

  14. one of my best friends surff and he told me that it could cost like 300 - 400 bucks.

  15. they cost  usally $300.00  but you can buy them cheaper

  16. If you buy a longboard, it will be more expensive than a shortboard.  Typically, a new fiberglass longboard is around 600 dollars.  The softtops and expoxy boards will be cheaper maybe around 300 dollars.  You could always try a used board although it is best to bring along an experienced surfer that can judge the condition of it.

  17. I dated a surfer in high school and he paid $300 for his...mind you, this was 17 years ago, lol.  So now I wouldnt be surprised to see them for $500.  I am sure they have lower and higher valued brands, as well.

  18. depends on what type of board you want.

the longer boards make it easier to stand up on. More balance.

the shorter boards take more time to stand up on, and you lose your balance easy if you don't practice at it.

  19. i Bought an NSP 7'6 for 545 it depends on alot of things brands, conditions but im sure u will fin 1 thats right for u
