Surfing - Canary Islands - Lanzarote?

Hey,

I'm heading to the Canary Islands and heard Lanzarote is a fun place to learn how to surf. It's something I have wanted to do for ages, so I think I'm going to do it. Anyone have any recommendations (personal would be best) as to where to go on Lanzarote and what to avoid?

Lanzarote is a great place to go surfing. The surf school I used to go to in Costa Teguise has closed down but a friend of mine has recently learnt to surf at Harven school Of English in puerto del Carmen. October to march is the best time to go surfing in lanzarote but the waves are there pretty much all year round. for a new surfer I would recommend surfing in costa teguise and famara. As for what to watch out for I can only say the sea urchins. That surf schools number is : 35510 34 928 528 460. enjoy
