  1. get a longboard/ skateboard. and practice cruising down different hills like steep and go really fast. this will help u with ur balance.

  2. I would try the obvious-skateboarding.other than that you need to get to Hawaii somehow because if your that dedicated why not do it right?Just don't surf the leeward side like Makaha or Nanakuli because of recent tiger sharks.

  3. You have a real problem.  Skateboarding with a longboard skateboard and snowboarding will help.  Suggest you start saving your money so you can take a lot of trips.  I hope you have some good films to watch.  One other thing you can do is look for a wavepool that has surfing or one of those standing wave machines.  They are starting to be built all over lately.

  4. Skateing in all its forms helps but i sometimes find myself in the same situation and when I finally get back in the water its my arm/paddleing fitness i miss most. Now whenever i travel I take a leash, attach it to the pools fence and swim against it so my arms are a little more stressed than just doing laps and It can be fun using a board like this too, trying to stretch that leash just with paddlepower, when you hit the real thing its like you never left. Also practice useing your mind, imagineing surfing perfect waves is almost as good as being there for real Keep the stoke.

  5. you can buy an indo board which could help you keep your balance or you can buy a long board and carve the streets look for steep drive ways and pretend its a wave hit it and then do a snap at the top or just do a cutback pretty fun to do when the surf is down or in your case when the surf is no where near

  6. If you live near a body of water, you could get a paddle board to stay in paddling shape, other wise swim all the time and grab your skateboard.
