I've been surfing for 7 years and longboarding for 6 months, I am really good at it now and I'm trying to figure out some innovative stuff, I can cutback, floater, bottom turn, top turn, nose ride, hang 10 and it's only been 6 months, I really want to get some innovative stuff going though, I'm gonna enter an all longboarding contest on the east coast.

  1. if you can do all those things on a long board, don't worry about innovation---work on consistency. if you enter ALL the longboard contests on the east coast, you'll win a good share with that bag of tricks. you'll be top 5 when easterns come around---h**l, you could probably take 1st or 2nd at ECSC. when you start entering all those contests, you'll have about a year under your belt---you'll be solid.

i only really know about surfing shortboard contests, but i'm pretty sure that riding the nose and hanging 10 are big point maneuvers for longboard contests.

  2. Just practice all those things in bigger more advanced waves. Also practice helicopters and fins first.

  3. idk??? but my brother is in love with longboarding too !!
