I'm a college student in Sacramento, looking to go surfing for the week. I was wondering where the best waves would be (if there were any).

Thanks!

  1. try Huntington Beach and Newport Beach.  they are literally 5 min apart. you can walk from HB to NB on the beachwaves are always decent. they hold surfs tournaments in HB all the time. plus the scenery ( ie chick) is AMAZING!!!!! if youre 21+ the bar/night scene is GREAT especially around spring break. youll have a great time!!!

  2. Santa Cruz! Or if you're interested in a longer road trip, go down to Santa Barbara for warmer waves, or up to Humboldt for more raw rugged coastal camping. If I were you, I would do a road trip from Santa Cruz to SB to SD to Baja.

  3. I would log onto http://www.surfline.com and check out the surf forcasts and models to get an idea what the surf will be like during your trip.  Great source of info.  Some of the models project out up to 180 hours out.  Good luck and have fun.

  4. Newport 54th street, iam there every day

  5. newport beach or if ur really, really good maverics
