Surfing in the north west.?

Hey everyone,

Me and my gf are beginning our surfing careers and was wondering where the best places in north wales or west wales (at a push) to try out for the first time, ideally with a surf school?

We are from Liverpool so somewhere not to far from there.

Not sure exactly but since you are beginning make sure you go with a longboard.
