Where on the east coast of the US would you recommend surfing, i've never been surfing and i want to learn. preferable the best combination of how far up the coast it is with the best waves (because i live in PA), jersey's the closest shoreline but the beach sucks and you couldn't ride the waves with an intertube

  1. you know how much harder it is to becoming an east coast ripper? then a west coast theres more credibility of being an east coast ripper being the fact that our waves arent as uniform as other breaks and how little the window of big surf comes around

and new jersey does get mackin waves you just have to be patient...

  2. East coast surfing is a joke.   The best waves that I know of are on the East End of Long Island, out in Montauk (Ditch Plains).   But the conditions have to be right for the waves to be at all decent.   It helps to have a nor'easter on its way up the coast.

  3. East coast surfing is a joke????

Dude, get your facts straight, count the number of world champs that have came from East coast to those from the west, not even close!

West coast may have better waves, dosent mean east coast is a joke (we got better surfers)

    get a life bra!

  4. the best place i've been on the east coast is st. augustine, florida. it's not the best, and it's a short ride, but i enjoy it, it's where i learned to surf and it's a challenge.
