  1. In my opinion it takes more physical stamina with all the paddling.  You can easily wear yourself out before you even get to the waves when you are first starting out.  You will find alot of the same attitudes among surfers and snowboarders having that "localism" mentality so you need to be aware of surf etiquette and know who has the go-ahead to take the next wave.  But surfing is great if you are in an area with good breaks.

  2. Depending on where you surf, there will be dickheads there too. At "beginner" break/beach/reef, surfers tend to be either very social, or total jerks. The more advanced a break gets, the more territorial people get, and the harder it is to gain respect.

In most of California, 80% of the time, people are wearing wetsuits.  Summertime is the only time that So Cal gets to wear boardies and bikinis.

You should definitely cross over as it's a whole new experience. Tricks are different as airs are MUCH harder in surfing, especially since every wave is different. Different boards ride completely different than each other. Again, most pro surfers wish they could get the consistent air you get from Snowboarding. As the conditions on a mountain don't change drastically between each run, a snowboarder can practice the same trick over and over again... surfers can't due to the complex changes in a wave depending on a multitude of factors.

Remember, there is no "Surf Lift" in surfing... so paddling out to the line-up is all you.

And don't forget, both men and women can't hide anything on their body while surfing! People can hide their beer bellies while snowboarding thanks to the layers of clothes. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's reality.

  3. ummm

    its pretty much the same

    surfers are mean

and you inhale allooot of saltwater

also when the waters a bit chilly...not cool

i love both but if i were to choose i'd choose snowboarding

  4. Manuevers between a surfer and a snowboarder are just about the same, whatever tricks you can do on a snowboard, you can do on a surfboard, with some exceptions. There are maneuvers you can do on a surf board but can't do on a snowboard, since while you are snowboarding, the feet never leaves the board, due to the bindings, but a surfboard has no limitation like that.

  5. its fun

  6. i am a surfer and i think it is one of the best sports of all time.  when you first start out its tough and i thought about quitting.  but once you get good it makes you want to go every day!

i have only been snowboarding once so i dont know much about it im sure its very fun too
