Surfing question please answer? anyone dont havto surf?

hey i live in australia, on the gold coast where like its a lifestyle to surf its all about the beach... anyway my mum and dad are both surfers and my brother and i was the gymnast and my dad wants me to learn surfing ummm im 15 and my friend and i have surfer b4 but we onley ride the wave in to the shore not along the wave soo what do you think should i learn i wanto but i dont no if its silly or not would i be any good learning at this age, im an all round sports girl really what do you think

I definitely think you should learn! You live in a great area! I wish I live there. I really want to learn how to surf but I live in CT there aren't many waves here(none really) and when I do get a chance to go to the beach no one ever wants to teach me....(stupid boys think I cant handle it) But I think you should do it. Its NOT SILLY. And your a girl I think you should do it and beat the boys....

Seeing as your parents surf I see no reason why they shouldn't get behind you in wanting to surf.  Especially since you live in prime surfing territory!!  Just be patient surfing takes longer to get good at than most sports so don't get discouraged.

if you really want to surf you should go for it , at the place where i live i am the youngest surfer there all the other guys are like 40,don't let age hold you back

get out there and enjoy yourself, waves are meant to be ridden and nobody can stop you except yourself. you have perfect waves right on your doorstep why not use them.

Nothing should really hold you back, age is not a limit in surfing if you have the strive and dedication to go out there and commit to some of those ausie bombs than go for it, but dont get mad you'll never have any fun if youre always uptight and compare yourself to someone whose been surfing for so long who can predict what a wave is going to do, after all why surf if youre just going to be aggro all the time, what im trying to say is just go out there specially with your family have your own crowd in the line up. just dont snake anyone...
