fits in my trunk but like a lot of floatation for the paddling aspect. I used to surf in Waikiki during college...

  1. well, there are some sites that you could visit if that's your case...

some say long boards are just for the beginners and the short boards were referred to as pro-boards...

why not you explore some sites...

like quiksilver, ripcurl, billabong and lots more...

    plus enjoy your surfing...

    mine's just skimboards you know...

  2. if you want a shorter but more boyant board, you should get a fish. they paddle like long boards and perform like short boards. they are really fun to ride. hope this helps. good luck

  3. i think your only 2 choices will be either a fish, or a flying carper(magic carpet) both boards are very buoyant so you dint need them so long, all depends on your style really, if you surf aggressively then the fish may be your thing or if you like the old school style of a long board then go for the carpet, try and get a board that's 2 1/2 to 3 inches thick, i board shaper will tell you exactly what you need, good luck.
