In my Honors Anatomy Class (taking next year) we have to write a 8+ page essay on a feild in medicine during the summer before we even start the class, basically I am suppose to pick a specialty that really appeals to me and write a essay on the subject. I myself either want to become an accomplished Neurosurgeon of Surgocal Oncologist I will be the first person in my family to got to an American College. I know I've got a long time till med school since I'm only a junior in high school but which should I choose for the paper, I know how important these two are and there actually specialty's I want to do, either Neurosurgery or Surgical Oncology but which would you chose if you had a 300 point essay on this subject?

  1. I always hated writing papers. First things first - should be spelled oncologist. As for a topic, I would suggest possibly discussing the differences between what type of work you would be doing compared to a non-surgical surgeon. For example, some oncologists treat cancer patients that surgery does nothing for them such as leukemia.

If its truly something that you are interested in doing then I would try and talk to some people about it. An interview would be great. Get in touch with a local that does something similar and talk about what interests you. Probably would also be a nice addition to the paper since you would be able to quote them in the paper and use it as a source. Good luck!
