Is the country Suriname a good place to live ?

Especcially if you're planning to retire ?

  1. I don't recommend Surinam, is poor and has a lot of diseases like the yellow fever.   Find better places for retirement, like Costa Rica, beautiful beaches and it is VERY CHEAP


  2. Personally I dont think so. Surinam is a former Dutch colony and the majority of the population descent from either dutch or indigenous parents. Surinam is famous for its wood so most of the people who live there (capital Paramaribo) work in a lumber related industry. I would retire in a more "central" place, somewhere in Chile or Peru or Argentina but definetly not Surinam unless I have specific personal ties which bind me there.

  3. I don't think so, unless you speak Dutch. If I were you I would look at other countries to move into.

  4. Does sound an exotic place to retire too, but i think i would have an extended vacation there before i would put down some permanent roots.

  5. A great place to retire to would be El Salvador. El Salvador is the 2nd richest country in Central America.
