Despite Mohindra Boodram’s valiant unbeaten century, Norway managed to secure a 4-wicket win over Suriname in the 5th Place Play-off Semi-Final of the ongoing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cricket League Division Eight, played at the Faleata Oval No 4 in Apia, today on September
20. The victory allows http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Norway-c2974 to advance, and they will now be facing off against Samoa on September 22 for the 5th Place Play-off.
Suriname won the toss and elected to bat first, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Terbhawan-Ranjit-c92984 (12) opening the innings for their side. However, their opening partnership did not proceed beyond 15 runs, as Tafseer Ali stepped in to send Singh packing in the
5th over.
His successor Troy Anthony Haley (8) was unable to contribute much, dismissed by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammd-Waseem-Gill-c77502, and Ranjit followed suit in the 15th over, trapped lbw by Wasim Tahir. Player of the Match Boodram, with an unbeaten knock of 103, remained the mainstay
of his team’s innings, but was unable to find any consistent partners throughout the early stages of the innings.

In response, Norway needed only three stable partnerships to propel them to victory over Suriname, two of them led by skipper Muhammad Butt.
Wicketkeeper batsman Usman Sahi, who opened for the team, was unable to stick it out for long, dismissed by Ramjohn in the second over. However, his fellow opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zeeshan-Ahmed-Siddiqui-c98579 (21) teamed up with Ehtsham Ul Haq (49) for a 69-run partnership for the second
wicket.
The stand was broken up by Singh, who sent Ul Haq back to the pavilion in the 20th over, with Dayal following it up with the wicket of Zeeshan Siddiqui in the very next over. However, skipper Muhammad Butt (77) rallied the side, setting up a mammoth

(0) were both eventually dismissed by Shaw, but Hayat saw the team through until the end, getting them up to a total of 238, with 4 wickets and 14 balls remaining.
