There's a few sites. Some are pay sites, but, you don't have to pay to find out the origin of the name, and one site where the history is at no charge. And since it's all you're looking for these should do well.

I'm assuming you mean a primarily English, Scottish, Anglo surname. If you mean Chinese or other let me know.

The link below, if you look to the left side, type your surname there. It'll give you tons of information about the lastname.

And you don't have to buy anything for it.
