  1. I had a teacher in high school with the last name 'Taffe'. It's pronounced 'Taff'.

    I don't know what it is, but my teacher was Jamaican


  2. Its the name of a group of welsh people who went to Ireland in the 13 century,now mainly found on the east coast. I  knew one Taafe they prounounced it "Taff-ee"

    There is also a German/Dutch surname that's spelled Taffe.

  5. My Great Great Great Grandfather was a Taaffe. Pronounced Taff.

    He was from Ireland. His son was of the same name Peter Taaffe II was a spy for the Valley Forge group against the Brits. Spent a spell there as well. His Father was Peter Taaffe Sr. and from Louth County,Ireland, b.1735
