  1. EVERYONE is different.

I picked up our dance routine in 2 days, but I have professional dance training, it took my fiance almost a month to pick up the dance!

Our first dance isn't choreographed, but right after our slow first dance we are transitioning to a Salsa/ Cumbia dance because his is from El Salvador, our way to include both traditions. His family will be surprised I am there "Token White Girl" LOL

Just work hard on it, you can do it!

  2. I actually dont like the pressure of a choreographd first dance. We were going to...but then...thats not us...we wanted to be comfortable and just enjoy the time between us as man and wife. No nerves...no stress...just love. Thats how its suppose to be.

    :D

  3. We aren't doing a surprise first dance, but we are doing one choreographed. We have had 7 private lessons so far.

One of the things that our instructor said that frustrates her is that couples come in two weeks before the wedding expecting to learn a routine and it takes much longer.

  4. You should try watching Rock the Reception.

  5. We leant a foxtrot. We didnt do it very well but we tried lol. we started 6 weeks before and had 6 lessons and practiced at home but neither of us are great dancers (well I am but I don't want to blame it all on him j/k). We stuffed up heaps but everyone loved the fact that we had gone to so much effort.

Just do a few dips and you'll have them all cheering lol

    All the best :P

  6. I would have a first dance whether you do a suprise one or not... Just do a slow dance to your favorite slow song if you think you can't learn the dance that fast.... But you definitly need some sort of first dance!!

I think you could do it, but only if you work on it for at least half an hour every day starting immediately.

  7. well lets say you can never be perfect, but it depends on the dance you are doing. If it is really hard maybe a month and more, and if you practice hard enough it will be the closest to perfect you can get.

    :)
