I have 2 daughters 9 and 8, and I want to have a special day with them. Just to do fun stuff with them without their brothers. I need to do something with them to show them that I care.

I was thinking of taking them shopping for new clothes and maybe new cellphones, iPod etc.

What are some stores they would like? Open to any suggestions..

  1. i am 12  so i can really help you , uh have they dropped any hints about any  electronics???? if they have take those hints to good use  you can get alot of those electronices at your local wal-mart of course!! Or if you want to take them clothes shopping go to stores like Justice , limited too , Libby lou , etc. very girly stores where you cna see them really happy and i am sure they will think you are an awesome dad!!

    hope i helped

    -katie

  2. cell phones for 8 and 9 year olds?! are you nuts?! they dont need them. i didnt get mine till my 15th birthday and i survived. take them shopping for clothes or jewelry, etc.

    -limited too

    -justice

    -claires

-build-a-bear (always a lot of fun no matter your age)

    etc.

  3. Take them to the mall. There are several stores in they can chose from.Your daughters will be thrilled.Thats a really sweet thing you are doing for them.

  4. You know your girls better than I do, but I would have preferred a trip to the zoo and sundaes at Friendly's at that age.  Maybe a day where, amongst other things, they get to ride ponies?  Girls that age typically love ponies.  It could be someplace with pony rides or maybe even a trail ride with you going along too!

Just my perspective from having been a girl of that age!

  5. try something memorable,

Try a concert of their favourite artist: High School Musical ...

    The Amusement Park

    Disney On Ice

    The Zoo

Stores : The Children Palace, La Senza Girl

If you have a weekend maybe go for campoing but make sure there are plenty of fun activities to do otherwise they will get bored.

OH YEAH... there are stores: make your own teddy bear VERY ORIGINAL

  6. limited too, best buy(probably to get a cell or ipod) , Claire's, all those girly stores good luck!!!

  7. Probably Toys R Us !

    Everyone loves that store....

but it might get kind of hectic because they will ask for this & that.

    But they'll probably enjoy it

  8. Best Buy has everything, but instead of showering them with things, take them bowling, a movie, amusement park, or a fair. One day they will out grow the things you buy, but they will always have those memories.

Kids that age should have phones! I live in the city where kids that are 8/9 usually are running all over the place. The cell phone lets parents keep tabs on their kids. My niece has had one since she was 8! It's been 3 years and she hasn't lost hers.

  9. you do not need to purchase them things to show them that you care. Take them to the park have a picnic end it with a nice dinner take them to the spa and get them there nails done. They will love a day like a princess!!

  10. You dont have to buy them expensive items to show them that you care. Think about it...they will come to expect it and there goes the joy in receiving a gift from you. New clothes would be great, school is starting soon. How about a movie or an elegant dinner out with their dad? ( girls love to dress up). Is there an amusement park in the area? Just your  time and attention is what they need and they sound like very lucky girls. God Bless and have fun.

  11. The thrift store is always a plus :]

    Lol..

TOYS R US was my best friend when i was 8/9

  12. TOYS R US. Stop #1. LOL

Clothing stores.. Ross, Rave Girl, Limited Too, Kids R Us..

Cell phones? iPods? They wont care. Theyre focus is probably having toys and being little princesses. They probably like pink.

They probably wont look at a 40$ cellhphone and be like, "Its cheap!" They would be happy to have a cellhpone. So u dont have to get them anything expsensive. And the iPods? Nothing exspensive... They probably arent into music yet... Get them a disney iPod,, Lol =]

    Good luck. =]

  13. The shopping part is good, but that could give the wrong message, as if you're trying to buy their love.

To have a special day is better that you do something with them they like, as:

    - Going to the Zoo

    - Picnic in a Park

    - Do some crafts with them (there are stores that makes little workshop, so you can do your own stuff)

    Then take them to dinner

Try to find out what they like to do and eat, and propose to do just that.

They will appreciate more the time with you.

Maybe you can buy them the ipods and cellphones later, or in exchange of something.  With that you'll teach them a life long lesson that money isn't everything and that to get things you need to do something in exchange (like work when they're older).

If still want to shop, please add where do you live?

  14. I'm assuming they would enjoy Limited Too, the clothing store or Claire's. They're loaded with Highschool Musical, Jonas Brothers, and Hannah Montana clothing. You can find them in a mall, usually.

  15. well they are 9 and 8 so limited too or justice, or claires, and fyi i dont think they need cell phones at that age. maybe 13, but to really show them u care take them to the zoo. i looooovvveed the zoo. it gets you to know more about them. and they will thank you when they are older. hope i help.

  16. take them for ice cream, and eat it at the park..

you dont need to buy them stuff to show em you care! have fun!

  17. If i had the chance to spend the day with "dad".

Of course of i would want to go shopping and all that good stuff. But try doing sumthing that both you and the girls would love. First really fun meal at some GREAT restaraunt. Maybe a little shopping. Doing a FUN activity like going to CREATIVITY POTS> where you paint pots and fun dishes then they heat it up and gloss it. or JUST SUMTHING FUNN> ice skating. etc. GOING TO get ice cream or shave ice(snowballs). going to the movies. COMON theres a lot of fun things to do. YOULL Think of sumthing GOod luk. oh yay

    ps. amusement park?

  18. I'll have to go on what my young teen step-daughter liked/likes:

    Abercrombie

    Limited (or Limited Too)

    Aeropostale

    Express

  19. Depends what stores they like to shop at.

When I was that age I liked aeropostale, abercormbie kids, and Hollister. for iPods go to the Apple store

  20. well i would deffinatly say that 8 and 9 is too younge for a cell phone or i pod.. dont spoil them.

spend quality time with them. take them to an amusement park or somthing. or a water park... they would enjoy that much more

dont let them grow up to fast

  21. That's very very sweet. I personally don't like the idea of accessorizing children with expensive equipment, just because I don't think that helps them enjoy their childhood -- technology is for teenagers. I'd take them shopping for new clothes, toys, but make sure there's something in there that will be an experience that makes memories and not just materials that make memories.

Take 'em horseback riding, or take them to a zoo. Things like that.

  22. uhm, they're 8 And 9 DON'T BUY THEM A CELLPHONE?

buy them clothes, ipod. stuff like that, you know?

    :)

  23. Take them to the biggest local mall and tell them this is "Dad n' Girls" shopping day.  Let them loose and trust me, they'll know exactly what stores to drag you off to.  If they don't, then explore with them, showing as much enthusiasm as you can muster for "girls" stuff.  Make sure to involve yourself and enjoy their excitement (afterall, you should get some "reward" for the cash you'll be forking over).  Don't forget to follow this up with either lunch or dinner at a decent restaurant, (not mcdonalds!!) to make them feel "grown up".... and ask them tons of questions about their lives at school ect...  You not only want them to see your interest in them personally, but this is an awesome way for you to keep up with your children's changing lives.  I would have given my right arm for an opportunity like this with my father (bless him).  Awesome idea dad! :) Have fun!

  24. first take them shopping at places like:

    tilly's

    abercrombie kids

    limited 2

    Justice

    Claire's

take them to lunch at a fancy place like macaroni grill or something..

for the elctronics, go to bestbuy. They have the new pink iPod nanos and lots of great cellphones by every carrier and tons of accessories.

then you could take them bowling or miniture golfing or something. If you were going to do something with them all weekend you could go camping or disneyland, 6 flags, hurricane harbor etc.

that's a really good thing you're doing. i wish my dad would've cared enough to do something like that with me..
