Surprised that neither the announcers nor the competitors knew the tie-breaking procedure in gymnastics?

Amazing to me that they did not have the foresight to know what would happen if two competitors had the same score, and that the viewers were not informed of the rules prior to the occurrance of the tie.

  1. Yeah that is strange how no one knew. Everyone thought they'd have to compete again for the gold or silver. Apparently people don't tie for gold very often.

  2. i am surprised that how can they make the right comment on the match.....actually they know nothing and mislead people.....i got no useful knowledge from them....just some nonsense...

  3. The competitors must know that. It is common sense for them. It is not surprise that the media didn't know the rules. Take a look in NBC, you will know how low standard are they.

  4. i didnt even know

  5. I was very surprised too, I was a gymnast and narrowly missed  out on qualifying for the Australian olympic gymnastics team for athens when I was 16 at the Nationals meet(due to an Achilles injury) and I certainly knew the rule when I was watching Nastia and He.

It's fairly uncommon but I still think that commentators who are supposedly experts of the sport should know though.

  6. Not at all.

NBC commentators are biased and not very knowledgeable people that spew trash.
