The Surrey County Cricket Club has postponed its Wednesday’s Friends Life T20 clash against Hampshire in the Wake of the tragic death of the young Tom Maynard.
Maynard, the 23-year-old Cardiff-born cricketer, was found dead on the rails of a tube station in south London on the line near Wimbledon Park, London Underground station. The club and the Metropolitan police have confirmed that Maynard’s death has occurred
as a result of an accident with an Underground train, rubbishing the initial reports of a car accident.

"Our thoughts at this awful time are with Tom's family and friends and all those that were close to him,” said the Surrey chief in a statement. “The impact Tom made in such a short period of time for Surrey CCC spoke for itself. There
is a profound sense of loss at the passing of Tom. To lose anybody at such a young age is an utterly senseless tragedy," he added further.
