The hosts would have been under immense pressure once they came out to bat but they had plenty of fire power in their batting line-up, which was capable of chasing down huge targets.

The pitch remained good for batting throughout the match. This made the game interesting for both teams and the spectators, as plenty of runs were scored.
Middlesex needed a solid start in order to chase the target down, but their top-order failed to make an impression and three quick wickets were lost.
